My loves

Today we attended a Valentine's Day Party with our MOPs (Mother's of Preschoolers) friends.   The kids looked so beautiful and handsome that we had to do a little photo shoot before we left.  I am very pleased with how they turned out:

This one really shows their personality...Garrett the talker, Brie the little lady.

I just love this picture of Brie.  She is so beautiful and
I LOVE how her sister is looking at her.

One of the nicest pictures of my three loves:

The party was a BLAST!  Here are some fun photos from our day:

A day on the town

Kevin has been working a lot so we have made the most of his days off. One day last week we packed a lunch and headed out to town. I knew It was the free admission day at the weather museum so that was definitely in our plans. But we thought we would stop by Hermann Park first for a picnic. They had a great little train that went all around the park. Everyone had a fabulous time especially Garrett.

Daily Duece: A Case of the Blahs

House is too quiet. There's too much to do. But there's no motivation. This house is supposed to be filled with laughter, fighting, love, and lots of little feet running around. It's just not the same without them. I have enjoyed my time with Kevin and even the few hours away to myself, but I am so ready to see my three little people. Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to see them until Monday. I know that they're having a very good time. In fact they even got to see snow today! I'm really thankful for our parents who have offered to keep them for this time so we can get some stuff done and more importantly spend some time together. I know that after just a few days of having them back in my house I will miss my time away so for the next few days I'll try to keep my case of blahs to a minimum as I enjoy my time away from my three little people.

Daily Duece

Today was a great day.  Kevin and I slept in and then finished a movie without any interruptions.  Then we set out to bargain shop.  We hit Goodwills, Consignment shops, and even some antique stores.  We stopped for a cup of joe at our favorite spot, Barnes & Noble while looking at books.  Then we did a little shopping to kill some time before going to the movies.  We ended the night with a tub of popcorn and two large cokes and 007.  It was a great day, but we missed our kids like crazy.   Funny how you can't wait to be away from them and then miss them dearly while they are away.  Thank God for Skype.

Daily Duece

Short. Sweet. Simple.

For two minutes every day I will blog about the happenings in our life, or simply just what's on my mind.
Today Kevin and I left our three kids at their grandparents for a whole week. Seven days with little to no responsibility. Oh my! I see organizing, scrapbooking and lots of sleeping going on for the next seven days. I will miss them, but the old adage is true "absence makes the heart grow fonder."

We don't build houses with cookies

Don't be fooled by the cute little picture:

What looks like a little boy hard at work creating a gingerbread house is just an illusion.
Every year our neighborhood has a free gingerbread house decorating day. It always seem like the perfect family outing.

Today was far from perfect.

First of all, it was 83°! Do you know what happens to icing at 83°? Well it doesn't exactly act like glue - it resembles something more like snot. Snot running down- every where! Second, there was a huge golf tournament all around us- with thousands of golf carts everywhere. Did I mention I have 2 two-year-olds that I have to watch all the time? Thirdly, I expected Garrett not eat the large cookies that were actually walls. It can be heard from our table "No Garrett! Don't eat those! Those are not cookies! They are walls." I guess I didn't think about the fact that the walls looked like cookies, smelled like cookies, and even tasted like cookies. Not to mention that there is icing all around us that could go right on top of those cookies! So Garrett and I had a little fight over said cookies. At the time I was irritated that one of our walls had a bite taken out of it! If I could do it over with again I would just let him eat the whole darn wall.

At least the pictures make it look like we had a good time:

Next year I think it'll be a girls day out.

Garrettisms

This boy cracks us up!!!

Two conversations over Thanksgiving:

My brother (trying to be mean to me):  Garrett, what color is your Mommy's hair?
Garrett: Pretty!

A conversation a little while after telling him no more cake for the 48th time:

Garrett (as I am dressing him for bed):  When we wake up we can play and have breakfast?
Me: Yes, are you already hungry (he always is!)?
Garrett:  Yes, we can have Pumpkin Pie, but no more cake!
